Passenger Drone Now In The US – Order like a Taxi!

Now who is ready for more state of the art technology? IT GURUS OF ATLANTA says the word is ready! When speaking of state of the art, we speak of the next level in technological advancements. Earlier this year we spoke about the new drones being pushed by Amazon that are being utilized to make their deliveries more efficient. Soon Amazon will be making deliveries to doorsteps of millions of homes in America once they have been approved by the government to do so. Now with even better drones being built by the hour, why not shape the way we travel while we are at it? Well a company in China is doing just that. The name of the company is called Ehang. Ehang has developed passenger drones which are capable of carrying passengers to and from locations the same way a drone would.

 

The prototype has been cleared for testing in the state of Nevada.  With the possibility of this passenger drone being sold commercially, this is a huge move for the company to get their product in the US.  Ehang’s drone is capable of carrying 1 passenger for 23 minutes in any direction the same way a drone would. The passenger drone is capable of traveling at altitudes of 11,500 feet and moving at 63 mph. The drone is completely electric and comprised of 8 propellers, 4 main arms which has upper and lower arms, can carry up to 264lbs, and has the same features of a conventional quadcopter.

 

Ehang partnered with the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS) and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (Goed) in order to get approval for the testing in Nevada. The goal of the company is to unleash the possibilities of aerial transportation on a commercial level. The vision of the company is for passengers to input their destination in the drone then allow the drone to complete the trip autonomously. These tests in Nevada are necessary in order for the FAA to approve the Ehang 184 for commercial use. Nevada has been noted as one of the forward-thinking states to allow the testing of autonomous vehicles on public roads such as the Google self-driving car.

 

 

The vehicle would not have any controls for the passenger to use. They would simply program their destination in their app, the vehicle would arrive to pick them up, and then take them to their destination. This would be done with very little interaction. As a backup, the company states that it would instill a remote-control center which would take over the vehicle in case any problems arise.

 

Being that this is cutting edge on the market, Ehang has matched the price with the demand by asking for $200,000 to $300,000 per vehicle. Even with the drone being tested currently, it still has hurdles to overcome such as being able to use the 4G wireless network in order to utilize the GPS, divert from potential hazards, and detect more efficient routes. The current concerns of the FAA is that there are no controls as well as safety concerns which the tests in Nevada will have to overcome.

With the growth of drone usage and autonomous vehicles taking over in companies such as Uber, Lyft, Google self-driving, and now the Ehang 184, it is clear that autonomous vehicles are here to stay. No longer are they a vision of the future or in sci-fi movies. The automation and sophistication of the future is now here in 2017.

Weight loss and Technology, are they connected?

Many people are waiting around for the easy way out, which involves pressing a button and then the waist gets smaller, muscles build up, stamina increases, and the “look good” body that they are looking for will appear.  Whether it’s the time constraints of meetings at work, family activities, or life’s inconsistent issues that pop up, working out and keeping healthy seems to take a backseat when it clashes against these variations. Between the time to workout and the ability for technology to provide the bridge between that gap, is where the two intersect.

The first aspect of any weight loss when assessing the ability to lose weight is to understand the mechanics. The mechanics of the body are the same as with any computer. Whatever you program into a computer is the output that you will get. The data that the software holds is the mental capacity that people allow to retain when it comes to the steps and processes to weight loss. The software that the data is housed is the operating system, databases, and applications. These applications can be translated into the organs within the body that allow the body to function.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The second aspect of weight loss is the hardware that holds the software. For many IT professionals the hardware is viewed as the keyboards, the motherboard, the mouse, the computer or server. Transversely, the hardware for people is the body. The body is the arms, the legs, the muscles, and the other physical aspects that it needs to function. The CPU and main unit to make all these different aspects to function is the mind when referring to the body. All aspects of these functions come from the mind and the mind is in the brain.

Now that we have established that the will power to work out comes from the mind, now here is where the technology plays a part. If the will is there, then the technology to help fester the will to lose weight and be healthier is there. The utilization of these tools are purely dependent on the CPU which is the mind and its ability to see the person in the mirror not as where they are now, but where they want to be.

 

FITNESS TRACKERS

Technologies that are capable of showing that improvement and help that goal to be accomplished are such as Fitness trackers that are found in products such as the Apple iWatch or Fitbit. These trackers are designed to keep track of all sedentary and energetic activities. With the ability to see where a person is currently, then adjustments can be made to increase the calories being burned, increase the amount of energy projected by the body, and more importantly increase a person’s productivity.

 

SMARTPHONE APPS

Other technologies which give the edge are smart phone apps that have a wealth of data and knowledge bases that others have shared that have given them the success they were seeking.  These apps do a variety of functions including track current weight and weight goal. Other apps are capable of using GPS accelerometers to show successes and different times that a person was most active. Apps are available that monitor eating habits and make recommendations to allow the maximum weight loss effects.

 

 

 

 

 

WEIGHTS AND MACHINES

Industry leaders such as Bowflex and other manufacturers have created electronic weights that are cost effective and in tune with the user. These weights promote balance and ensure that the maximum effort is endured with each stride and rep taken with the weights. Other equipment include stair climbers, treadmills, cross trainers, and many more. The equipment by many of these major manufacturers are designed with comfort, safety, and efficiency which is what makes them the most technologically advanced available today. Electronic scales can now access body mass, fat, and graphically digitize the effects of what was consumed daily. Companies that have these advanced sales are Withings Smart Body Anlalyzer which also syncs with any smart phone. Other companies such us urbanwearables have wearable technology which stimulate muscle contraction through electro-stimuli and mimics the efforts of a person contracting the muscles themselves.

BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY AND WEIGHT LOSS

The benefits of having technology blended with weight loss plans is the ability to see the results of success and failure. The difference between the motivation to keep going and the ability to quit is the results that people are able to see. These technological advancements described in the article aren’t “push button” strategies that will melt the fat away or to “magically” give a person the body that they seek. These technologies are simply created to assist in making the process of weight loss more inspirational by allowing daily results to be seen and keeping records to avoid pit falls that do happen when encompassing the journey of weight loss.
